An explosive end to a thoroughly addictive series.
I LOVE it when I start reading a book that I can't put down. That feeling is intensified when it's an entire series - I mean, what author can manage to make an entire three books utterly gripping? Well, turns out that this author managed it just fine.
I WANT MORE. (Note to Mr Crouch - I feel there is definitely room for book 4 here).
Okay, so without giving too much away, Wayward Pines is in turmoil after Ethan, a former FBI agent, tells them the truth about what's going on in town. The truth not only staggers the residents, but leaves them exposed to the ultimate threat - what's beyond the gates.
Will they survive? And another big question - just how did Ethan end up there in the first place? All is revealed in this third book...
Whereas the first two were more about the slow build-up of tension and unease, this book was all to do with the explosive action. It's a brutal read, far more so than the first two, but somehow it seems to work, despite the extreme violence that ensues. It's like it's been building to this moment, so it becomes acceptable.
As ever, there are plenty of twists that you won't see coming, and in this novel, lots of surprising revelations about the past... and the future.
Look. I don't want to ruin it for you. Just go out and buy all the books, okay?
