A creepy book that emphasises home isn't always the safest place...
I have enjoyed all Claire Douglas's books. This is her 4th and I think they are getting creepier each time and this one kept me awake at night.
This book is set in the Brecon Beacons and set around Kirsty and her family who have bought a B & B after needing a fresh start after Kirsty's husband Adrian has been ill. Kirsty's mother has also come to live with the family. The first guests arrive and Kirsty's mother drops a bombshell that Kirsty's cousin Selena is coming to stay with her daughter.
Kirsty is very unsettled by this announcement as she has not seen Selena since they were 18 and they parted on bad terms. Selena arrives at the house and dead flowers start being delivered to the house and things take a catastrophic turn and Kirsty realises her life will never be the same again.
I don't want to give too much away but the ending is spectacular and I couldn't stop reading this book. A huge 5 stars for me. A creepy, physiological thriller at it's best showing home is not always what you think it is.
